Promotion in BJJ to 3rd degree Black Belt

In August I was on a BJJ camp in Italy. There I was given a great honor, because I received the next stripe on my black belt from my Professor Roberto Atalla. So now I have the 3rd degree black belt in BJJ. It's a great feeling to be able to keep learning from others in martial arts and to keep developing.

Training at Van Rijt Top Team Boppard / Deutschland may 2024

In May I went on a short trip to my Van Rijt Top Team in Boppard / Germany for a BJJ seminar. In a small group we rolled, sweated and laughed a lot. Thanks to Alex Schladt for his tireless efforts on site! You have built up a great team.

Contact Ju-Jitsu Seminar in Philippsburg / Germany January 2024

The year started this time with an exciting seminar at the FZC blau-weiß Philippsburg / Germany: 

Ralf Pfeifer, the world referee chairman and competitive sports coordinator of ARGE Baden-Württemberg, was also present. We worked our way through the extensive set of rules in a small group and always put everything into practice on the mat. I was particularly pleased that Roman Apolonov came to the seminar and was very interested in full-contact Ju-Jitsu. Roman is a five-time world champion in Ju-Jitsu, an MMA fighter and an outstanding technician. So I am very confident that many of the participants will be able to achieve a lot in this sport.

After Party - Seminar Meiningen 2023

After the seminar we went to eat and drink a bit. What better way to do that than also watchin an video on German TV about my seminar. I am always very happy about the publicity for our sport.

Bronze at Grand Prix Paris for Sina Staub

Paris. Sina Staub once again won a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in France - this time in her new weight class of -52 kg. She had already returned to Switzerland last year with a precious metal in the flyweight -48 kg category. 

To master another difficult and high-caliber tournament and reach the podium in a higher weight class is fantastic. 

In the semi-final, Sina faced the reigning world champion and was leading 12 to 11 until 10 seconds before the end of the fight. In a fast sport like Ju-Jitsu, even 10 seconds is a long time and a lot can still happen. So Sina had to concede defeat to the Ukrainian athlete at the final bell with just one point lower score (12-13).

Sina, I am proud of your performance! The World Championships can come!

Medals for JC Uster Ju-Jitsu Jugend in Brugg

The Ju-Jitsu fighters from JC Uster were all successful at the tournament at JJJC Brugg and made it onto the podium. At the Rüeblichueche tournament, the Ju-Jitsuka were all able to take home a medal. It's great when your hard training pays off and you are rewarded with a place on the podium.

Medal rain at Vienna Open 2023 for Swiss Ju Jitsu Team

The Swiss Jiu-Jitsu team showed good progress at the Open Vienna National Championships. As a coach, I couldn't be more proud of my team, especially because it's such a great group - a team. You can see the development of each individual with every step we take. Stay in the fight and you will get even better.

Great successes for young Ju-Jitsu talents at the Zurich Open

My protégés from the Judo Club Uster achieved great results at the Ju-Jtisu Zurich Open. Almost all of them made their debut and went home with a medal. Only the Dutch fighter Casper van Rijn is an experienced fighter and won the gold medal for Club Uster. With 2x silver and 3x bronze, 6 fighters took home 6 medals. I am proud of my young athletes.
